After a long day, there's nothing better than watching as the sun dips below the horizon, especially in Jacksonville where the scenery can't be beat.

Here are a few of our favorite places to watch the sun set (or rise):

BLACK ROCK BEACH 

Found on Big Talbot Island, Black Rock is reminiscent of the beaches in Hawaii. Its unique rocky shoreline features fallen oaks that have turned to driftwood. The sunsets light up the water, and dolphins may swim along the shore to greet you. This beach is a favorite among professional photographers and visitors alike. 

STINSON PARK

Stinson Park is named for William Stinson. He was a medical officer during World War I and was active in local civic affairs until his death in 1954. An extension of the streetcar ran through the park to Ortega in 1908, which facilitated the community's growth. The park often draws a crowd, and the scenic overlook offers stunning views of the sunset and downtown Jacksonville. 

RIVERFRONT PARK 

Nestled along the St, John's River, Riverfront Park is a favorite among local anglers. Manatees have been spotted surfacing along the shore, and cool breezes bring out visitors who come to enjoy the view. The sunsets over the water are spectacular and make for incredible photographs. 

MEMORIAL PARK

Called one of Jacksonville's best loved treasures, Memorial Park draws people from across North Florida. The park was built in honor of the 1,220 Floridians who gave the ultimate sacrifice during World War I. The famed Olmsted brothers are responsible for the design, and historians say it's their finest small urban park still in existence. It offers a quiet respite and magnificent views and has been known as the perfect place to picnic since 1924.
