Let's talk taco. Because we all love them, but all tacos are not created equal. It’s time to leave behind the mass-made seasoned ground beef and American cheese of Chain-Ville and sink your teeth into some well-marinated Asada garnished with just a little cilantro and onion and a squeeze of lime and served on a soft, flavorful corn tortilla. It’s time to up your taco game, and you can do it right here in River City.
Happy Taco Feliz
It’s a food truck. And we all know that the best tacos (oddly enough) come from trucks. They serve tacos with perfectly seasoned grilled meats (pollo, carnitas, Asada, pastor) on corn tortillas in sets of three for an insanely low price. Yes, you can get a “supreme” with a flour tortilla, cheese, lettuce, and sour cream, but why ruin perfection?
La Nopalera
You know it’s going to be good when you see someone hand-pressing and grilling up your tortillas to order. This local chain is family-owned and operated. Don’t be distracted by some of the crazier menu items like Chimichanga Chicken Parmigiana. Just go with the street tacos and thank us later.
Casa Maria Authentic Mexican Restaurant
Casa Maria has a giant menu and serves even bigger portions, but cut through the fat and just get the carnitas. You can get them in taco form (a good deal on Tuesdays) or the platter. Then dive into big chunks of flavorful, slightly fatty, porky goodness.
