4 GREAT MUSIC VENUES IN JAX WHERE YOU CAN JAM THIS SUMMER

|

Jacksonville hosts some of the best live music in the country, and whether you’re looking for local shows from up-and-coming artists or big-name national tours – you’re sure to find the perfect spot here. To get you started, check out these four great local music venues.

Jack Rabbits

It’s Friday night, and you’re not sure where to go, but you definitely want to hear some music. For an intimate venue where you know you’ll get a great show, the people will treat you well, and you won’t overpay, Jack Rabbits is the spot. A local favorite and a fixture in the Jacksonville music scene, this rocking venue consistently serves up top-notch artists in a range of genres. Whatever your go-to, you’ll find tunes to satisfy your tastes here. Even more than providing great music, they’re known for their exceptional service and for truly contributing to Jacksonville’s music community.

The St. Augustine Amphitheatre

For something entirely different, take a jaunt down to historic St. Augustine. Tour the lovely town, enjoy the range of classic architecture styles, grab a good bite to eat, and top off the whole trip with a concert at The St. Augustine Amphitheatre. A show at this beautiful outdoor showcase will be well worth the visit, and you’ll have the chance to see some fantastic artists. Cold War Kids, Incubus, and Earth, Wind & Fire are all on the docket in the coming months.

1904 Music Hall

While other parts of the city and the surrounding area offer plenty of cool venues, music lovers in Jacksonville always find their way downtown eventually. One sweet hangout you’ll have to hit is 1904 Music Hall, located in a historic brick building on Ocean Street. Bring a high level of energy and great vibes, and you’ll fit right in. When you need a break from busting moves, you can relax and take a breather on their huge outdoor patio before you hop back into the action.

Florida Theatre

Just around the block, the historic Florida Theatre gives you yet another reason to tour downtown for your tunes. Opened to the public in 1927, the theater operates as a nonprofit and offers not just live music but also classic movie screenings, opera, and ballet. Since we’re about the music, though – you’ll find a mix of pop, jazz, country, and classic rock on the bill. Inside, the ornate, detailed architecture makes for a unique show experience, and the acoustics never disappoint.

Wherever you’re headed to take in your next show, jam on in JAX! For recommendations on local restaurants and ways to stay plugged in, make sure to check out the Mirador & Stovall at River City blog.
