4 JACKSONVILLE BAKERIES & COFFEE SHOPS FOR WARM TREATS WORTH THE SPLURGE

|

Cooler weather, shorter days, and the comforting rhythms of fall make this the perfect time of year to sneak in a few extra coffee treats or baked goodies. At Cape House, we’re lucky enough to be surrounded by a plethora of foamy delights and ooey-gooey indulgences. The next time you feel your sweet tooth chattering, head to one of these four awesome Jacksonville bakeries and coffee shops to cure your craving.

Crumbl Cookies

Crumbl Cookies has become a national phenomenon, and we’ve got our own location on Hodges Boulevard in Beach Haven, just down the street from Cape House. Sometimes just doing one thing, and doing it well, produces the best results – and Crumbl knows cookies. You’ll never be disappointed with classics like their chilled pink sugar cookie or their staple fresh milk chocolate chip cookie, but if you’re feeling saucy, you can sample from their weekly rotating menu. Featuring tempting seasonal flavors like the Pumpkin Roll – a spiced pumpkin cookie topped off with cinnamon streusel and cream cheese frosting – the weekly offerings will keep you coming back to see what’s new and nommable.

Delicomb

Snack local at Delicomb on Jacksonville Beach, a locally owned hot spot for coffee drinks and hearty breakfasts. A fixture for the Jacksonville morning crowd since 2009, Delicomb expanded in 2014 and moved into its current location, where they serve up fresh meals using all-natural, organic ingredients. Once you warm up with a chai latte or their enticing Café Cocoa – fresh coffee blended with hot chocolate – you can peruse their well-rounded breakfast and lunch menu, which features two-egg sandwiches, salads and wraps, bagels, panini melts, and açai bowls. The kicker is their in-house fermented kimchi, which you can add to a sandwich or take home to enjoy later.

Southern Grounds

Southern Grounds has decent grounds to call themselves the superior coffee shop in town. Their hangout on First Street in Neptune Beach not only serves top-notch coffee but also delivers the community gathering experience that separates the best from the rest. If you’re looking for more than just your morning coffee, check out their breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus that use organic, sustainably sourced ingredients. Any time of day, and any day of the week, Southern Grounds has something for you, whether it’s live music on Friday and Saturday nights or a delicious brunch on Sunday morning. For your next lunch date, check out their tasty tartines, like the loaded Avocado Toast, the Prosciutto & Egg, and the Goat Cheese, Pear & Honey, featuring thyme and sea salt on fresh sourdough bread.

Cinotti’s Bakery

A family-run standby in Jacksonville Beach, Cinotti’s Bakery is your go-to donut shop for lazy weekend mornings or a midweek treat. Grab a Pumpkin Donut while they last and pick a few of your favorites from the Apple Fritters, Glazed Croissants, and Long Johns. Cinotti’s can also hook you up with cakes, cupcakes, and cookies for special occasions (or regular occasions), and they’ve got hearty breakfast options to help you get your day rolling. Chow down on their grits, oatmeal, or French toast, and when you’re ready for a change, try something from their Cinotti’s Originals section, starting with the Beladi, a pita sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese, plus mayo and hot sauce.

Wherever you’re headed for your next fall treat, make it worth the splurge! For more tips on Jacksonville’s best foodie hot spots, make sure to check out our Cape House blog.
