Led by pro surfers Evan and Tristan Thompson, the Thompson Surf School will take your skills to a whole new level. Evan and Tristan grew up in Jacksonville Beach. As brothers, they honed their skills together. Evan was once a member of the USA surf team, and he opened the school in 2013 to share his passion for the sport with others. Both group and private lessons are available. They take place at 6th Avenue South and include soft top surfboards, beach instruction, and a 45 to 50-minute surf lesson.
Jacksonville Surf & Paddle
At Jacksonville Surf & Paddle, the instructors believe that no one is ever too young or too old to benefit from board sports. They offer beginning and advanced classes throughout the year. Lessons take place on Saturdays, and you'll learn alongside surfers of like skills. Additionally, private sessions are also available. They provide a great way to learn the fundamentals in a one-on-one setting.
Happy Waves Surf School
With over 20 years of combined coaching experience, Oli and Jen help all athletic abilities improve their surfing skills. They have taught in Australia, New Zealand, and other faraway places. The couple enjoys teaching, and both are certified by the International Surfing Association as level one surf coaches. At the Happy Waves Surf School, Oli and Jen offer 90-minute lessons. The sessions include both beach orientation and water time.
