Enjoy a Day at the Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park near Destin 

Not far from our Destin apartments is a unique destination dedicated to entertainment and inspiring guests to preserve wildlife. We're talking about the Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park, and millions of visitors have walked through the doors since 1955. Here is some of what this adventure park near Destin has to offer.

Discover Dolphins 

Get an up-close look at the park's Atlantic bottlenose dolphins. These charming creatures are very social. They're named for their long, beak-like snouts and are light to dark gray in color. During the Discover Dolphins experience, you'll be able to touch the animals to discover how they feel. The fun may also include a feeding session or giving various behavioral signals you'll learn from the trainers. 

Stingray Bay Snorkel 

Jump into the water to enjoy a snorkeling experience unlike any other. Along with the stingrays, you'll also swim past bamboo sharks. These sharks are small, slow-moving bottom dwellers. Adults grow up to 37 inches in length and feature extremely large tails. The Stingray Bay Snorkel experience starts with an orientation and includes the gear you need to discover the "graceful nature of these mystifying creatures."

Discover Turtles 

Learn all about loggerhead sea turtles. They're the world's largest hard-shell turtles. Adults weigh nearly 300 pounds and have yellow or brown skin and reddish-brown shells. The Discover Turtles encounter also includes learning about African spurred tortoises and the park's sea turtle rescue and rehabilitation program. The fun lasts approximately 30 minutes.
