There’s always something fun to do during the holiday season in sunny Destin. Check out these festive events going on around town this month.
Destin Boat Parade
Head over to HarborWalk Village on Sunday, Dec. 12 at 6 PM for this cheery event, a long-time holiday tradition among Destin locals. The parade of boats will start at the east side of the harbor near Boshamps Seafood & Oyster House and move to the west side. You’ll see tour boats, fishing charter boats, private boats, and other watercraft – all of them brightly lit and decorated to the nines. Best of all, the parade ends with a huge fireworks show. Make sure you stay until the end so you don’t miss it!
Merry Little Mixer
If you’re a young professional looking for opportunities to network while still trying to fit in some holiday fun, this event is for you. It takes place on Dec. 8 at 5:30 PM in the HarborView Lounge in HarborWalk Village. All you have to do is RSVP and purchase your $15 admission pass (which comes with two drink tickets). Be sure to wear your holiday finest and get ready to drink, dance, network, and be merry!
Holiday on the Harbor: Sounds of the Season
Harborwalk Village is hosting a festive concert featuring holiday music performed by the Village Baptist Choir and Emerald Coast Community Band. You can catch the three-hour show on Saturday, Dec. 18 or Sunday, Dec. 19, from 2-5 PM.
Miracle on 34th Street
Everyone loves this classic Christmas story, so don’t miss the Emerald Coast Theatre Company’s live radio play version. It features live Foley effects (sound effects that are matched with live action, like footsteps or twisting door knobs), giving it that authentic radio vibe, as well as several classic Christmas carols. Opening night is Dec. 9, and the play runs through Dec. 19.
5th Annual Cruisin’ Into Christmas – Festival of Trees Event
Enjoy a magical evening while also helping others at this community-minded event. Settle in for a gourmet dinner, musical entertainment, silent and live auctions, and a display of some of the most beautiful Christmas trees you’ve ever seen. Proceeds from this Dec. 9 event go to Safe Connections, a supervised visitation center for children affected by abuse, neglect, and domestic violence.
