TURTLE TOWN

Located in the center of a marine sanctuary, Turtle Town is known as one of the best snorkeling destinations in San Diego. The ocean depth is around 32 feet, and you will be surrounded by dozens of sea turtles as they glide through the red and green kelp plants. Most of the turtles have medium to dark brown shells and grow to approximately five feet long. 

LA JOLLA COVE 

Nestled between sandstone cliffs, La Jolla Cove is one of the most picturesque (and most photographed) locations in Southern California. With calm waters, it's one of the area's top spots for marine recreation. The cove is accessible from a small beach at the base of the sea cliffs, and the water is light blue and clear. Snorkelers can enjoy an afternoon of fun with the sea lions, and when these charming animals aren't swimming, they lounge on the rocky outcroppings.  

LA JOLLA SHORES 

Spanning one mile, La Jolla Shores is San Diego's most popular beach. It stretches along the eastern shore of the La Jolla Underwater Park Ecological Reserve, and during the summer months, the waves are typically the most gentle of all the city's beaches. Snorkelers may spot small stingrays, black bat rays, and an array of colorful fish. To the west, they will also find sea beds full of sand dollars.
