VG Donut & Bakery

Nestled in coastal North County San Diego, VG specializes in the old-fashioned style of baking. Owned and operated by the Mettee family since 1969, it's where the staff begins their day early as the donuts are baked at both 4:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The quick-moving line often extends out the door, and flavors include cinnamon sugar, vanilla iced, and devil's food.

Nomad Donuts 

At Nomad, all of the donuts are handcrafted using ingredients from local farms. The shop is known as the go-to destination for globally-influenced treats, and the baker's unique recipes have inspired a few limited edition beers. Guests always enjoy friendly service, and Nomad Donuts boasts a four-star rating on Yelp as everyone appreciates the casual atmosphere and varied selection. Donut flavors include taro coconut, raspberry lavender, and vanilla bean.

Donut Bar

Called the "Best Donut Shop" by USA Today, the Donut Bar welcomes many celebrity customers including Ellen DeGeneres and Ryan Seacrest. The shop opens daily at 7:00 a.m., and it's important to arrive early as it closes as soon as the donuts are sold out. The Donut Bar is a fun place to meet friends, and it comes complete with dark wood, neon lighting, and chalkboard menus. There are more than thirty flavors, and choices include butterbeer, lemon pistachio, and caramel latte.
