4 GORGEOUS HIKING SPOTS IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY

|

Views for days, the California sunshine on your skin, and some good ol’ fresh air – What’s not to love about a hike in the great outdoors? San Diego has some of the most beautiful hiking destinations in the country, so lace up your boots, and get out to these epic trails in SoCal.

Otay Valley Regional Park

Rolling fields of bright yellow wildflowers, wetlands, wildlife, 8 miles of walkable terrain, and a stunning backdrop of coastal California hillsides – This trail is a must-see. Plus, it’s dog friendly!

Bernardo Mountain Summit Trail

This 5-mile round-trip trail has pristine views of Lake Hodges and the surrounding landscape. Make sure to visit this trail on a cooler day as there is little-to-no shade along the route – The views will not disappoint!

Black Mountain Open Space Park

With panoramic views overlooking practically all of San Diego County, this trail is where you want to be on a clear, sunny day. The 1,554-foot trek to the summit is a bit of a feat, but well worth it for the insane aerial perspective of your favorite cities below. Be sure to bring water and pack a snack.

Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve

If there’s only one hike to choose from on our list, it should be this one. Massive rock formations, tree-tunneled trails, oddball gravestones, flowing waterways – This hiking destination has it all. And, it’s only a 15-minute drive from Olympus Corsair.
