SEAFOOD & STEAK: 5 DELICIOUS IRVINE RESTAURANTS TO ENJOY THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS

Craving a good steak? But your partner would rather have seafood? Or maybe you’d like a little of both on your own plate? No problem. Irvine is home to plenty of top-notch restaurants that offer surf and turf. Here are some of our favorites.

Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que

Just minutes away, this restaurant’s Tustin location offers some of the best comfort food in California. Chimichurri top sirloin, Texas-style beef brisket, and BBQ tri-tip are some of their favorites off the grill. As for seafood, don’t miss their grilled salmon, southern-fried shrimp and catfish, and their classic New Orleans gumbo.

Ruth’s Chris Steak House

Here, you’ll find serious fine dining. Ruth’s Chris features a high-end menu filled with perfectly-cooked and seasoned beef. Filet, Ribeye, New York Strip, Porterhouse… They have it all. But they know more than just good meat, as you’ll see from their seafood menu. How does Chilean Sea Bass sound, cooked in citrus-coconut butter? Or shrimp sautéed in garlic butter and barbecue spices?  

Houston’s

This establishment prioritizes giving customers an indulgent, satisfying restaurant experience – and part of that is offering some of the best entrees in southern California. Their menu is filled with classics that you’ll love, including Hawaiian ribeye steak, pan-seared salmon, prime filet, and even sushi.

Texas de Brazil

How about something outside the box? This Brazilian steakhouse features unique and mouth-watering flavors. They cook their meats, including braised beef ribs, flank steak, and filet mignon, over an open flame with natural wood charcoal. Enjoy shrimp and smoked salmon from their salad bar. And do not miss the lobster bisque.

TAPS Fish House & Brewery

It doesn’t matter what you’re craving – this eatery has a little bit of everything. Their Angus beef is aged for 34 days to give it the optimal tenderness. They allow their filets and ribeyes to be center stage, only enhancing with simple, fresh vegetables and classic garlic mashed potatoes. Meanwhile, their seafood menu offers everything from salmon to scallops. Local favorites include Macadamia-Crusted Rockfish and Drunken Mahi Mahi. And if you want a little of both, they provide the classic surf & turf (filet mignon and lobster or crab) as well as a Steak & Seafood Trio.
