When you're looking for a way to meet new people, consider becoming a volunteer. Several local organizations are always looking for help, whether you have a lot of time to give or just a couple of hours a month. The following are a few places near our Phoenix apartments where you can donate your time:

Phoenix Zoo 

Since opening in the early 1960s, the Phoenix Zoo has welcomed over 43 million visitors. It's home to dozens of animal species and strives to connect people to nature and exciting wildlife. To volunteer, become a member of the Phoenix Zoo Auxiliary. It was founded in 1961, and it's the zoo's oldest volunteer fundraising organization. Over the years, it has donated over three million dollars to help fund zoo projects. 

Paradise Valley Community Food Bank 

The Paradise Valley Community Food Bank began in 1986 when a group of community members started collecting food from their garages. Their mission was to help struggling families in northeast Phoenix. Today, the food bank continues to make a difference. Its dedicated group of volunteers donated over 9,000 hours in 2021. Van drivers and front desk volunteers are currently needed. Arizona Small Dog Rescue 

The Arizona Small Dog Rescue works to save as many lives as possible. The team works tirelessly to find good homes for the pets. They socialize the animals in their care and provide medical attention when necessary. The Arizona Small Dog Rescue is always looking for friendly volunteers. Also, duties include cleaning, assisting at adoption events, and walking the dogs.
