Also known as painted leopards, ocelots are easily recognized by their dark brown fur with irregular-shaped spots and stripes. In the wild, they mainly live in tropical forests. They stay hidden during the day and hunt at night. Ocelots were once a vulnerable, endangered species. Today, they're listed as "least concern."
Sea lions are charming, playful animals known for their curious nature. They're speedy swimmers and also move well on land. Their whiskers help them detect prey in the water, and they eat everything from squid to salmon. At the zoo, you'll meet Sunny and his friends. They take part in educational demonstrations and fun shows at Shipwreck Cove.
Safari Tram Ride
Hop aboard the safari tram for an unforgettable adventure through the savannah. You'll see dozens of animals like red river hogs, Addra gazelles, and sable antelopes in their natural environments. Along the way, you can snap incredible pictures as the driver shares fascinating facts about each species. The cost is six dollars per person.
Baby Animal Nursery
Finally, be sure and stop by the baby animal nursery. It's where you'll find the zoo's youngest residents. The animals change weekly, so you never know what incredible species you might see.
