EVENTS HAPPENING IN GILBERT THIS AUGUST

|

After two-plus months of making up for last summer’s lack of fun, you may be looking for a less-active month this August. So, if you’re seeking some low-key activities around Gilbert or close to home, Redstone at SanTan Village has compiled a list of ways you can spend your free time this August.

School Supply Drive

With September just around the corner, kids of all ages are heading back to school – many without the supplies they need. Locations all around Gilbert, including Dollar Tree, Staples, Walgreens, and OfficeMax, allow customers to purchase and donate school supplies to children in need.

Live Music and Lattes

Local singer and songwriter Serena Nicolle performs regularly all over Phoenix. On Saturday, Aug. 28, from 11 AM to 2 PM, join her for an intimate acoustic show at Sweetz Cold Brew Coffee. It promises to be a relaxing afternoon with a great cup of coffee and some beautiful new music.

Power Road Farmers Market

Farmers markets aren’t just for the weekends. Throughout August, Power Road Farmers Market will be open Monday through Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM and Sunday from 9 AM to 4 PM. This family-owned market is dedicated to selling goods from local farmers and vendors. Its website even has a recipe page to help you decide what kind of culinary concoctions you can make from your farmers market haul.

Right Outside Your Door

Here at Redstone, food truck Wednesday is still very much a thing. Trucks park out front between 5 PM and 7 PM. Come on out to discover what tasty treats these traveling kitchens will be serving up.
