Arizona Sunrise Series
The 2021 Arizona Sunrise Series is underway, and luckily there are three more legs for your chance at getting that special medal. A fundraiser for St. Mary’s Food Bank, a portion of proceeds go toward helping relieve hunger in Arizona. Each of the remaining races is a 5K, each open to roughly 600 runners. And as if the awesome scenery and company wasn’t enough to convince you to take part in these enjoyable races, you’ll also receive a custom series medal, a dri-fit racerback tank or shirt, a “runner’s brunch,” and the confidence in knowing you completed a Sunrise Series event! Get your sleep the night before, the race day starts bright and early with registration starting at 5:30 AM. Remaining races include:
- July 17 – Rose Mofford Park
- July 31 – Foothills Park
- Aug. 14 – Riparian Preserve

Racin’ For Rescues 5K
At the beginning of fall, the fifth annual Racin’ For Rescues 5K and 1 Mile event will take place on Oct. 9 at Freestone Park in Gilbert. Get your pup in race-ready shape, because this race is all about the pets. Proceeds from the race benefit AZ Paws & Claws Pet Fostering & Adoptions, an organization that helps find homes for pets living in shelters, helps feed hungry cats and dogs, and provides needed emergency medical care to animals in need, among other things. Grab your pup and get ready to race for rescues.
