4 WAYS TO CELEBRATE ST. PATRICK'S DAY NEAR GILBERT THIS YEAR

|

Whether you’re Irish or not, it’s always fun to celebrate this merry holiday in mid-March. And this year, the Gilbert area is ready for some good “craic” (fun).

Here are some ways to celebrate the day in your best green attire.

Scottsdale Shamrock Crawl

On Saturday, March 12, enjoy this fun tour of some of Scottsdale’s best bars, including Casa Amigos, El Hefe, Wasted Grain, and Whiskey Row. It starts at 11 AM so you can take advantage of the free breakfast buffet. The $20 ticket also gets you two penny drink vouchers, and access to all kinds of perks. Not to mention the fact that you’ll get to sample some of the best beer and spirits in the city!

39th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Faire

Head over to Phoenix for this epic celebration that takes all year to plan. In the parade, which starts at 10 AM on March 12, you’ll get to see clowns, bagpipe bands, Irish cowboys, and of course, lots of kilts! Meanwhile, the faire will run all day, until 5 PM at Margaret T. Hance Park, adjacent to the Irish Cultural Center. There will be Irish music, dancing, beer, corned beef and cabbage, and plenty of opportunities to not only learn more about Irish culture, but to connect with the Irish community in the Phoenix region.

5th Annual Luck o’ the Irish 5K

This virtual race makes it incredibly easy to join in the fun because you can fit it into your schedule at any time during the month. You will get to choose your own course and time yourself and then you report the results back to the committee. You can even complete this race on a treadmill! This is a great way to give back while having fun, as a portion of the proceeds of this race will go to the National Hemophilia Foundation which is working hard to find treatments and cures for genetic blood disorders.

Lucky’s St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl

This is perhaps the wildest, biggest St. Patty’s Day celebration in the region. Over a thousand participants are expected to show up on March 19 in wild costumes (there’s a contest with a $1,000 prize, so be sure to dress up!), ready to enjoy the two free drinks, and waived cover charges. Get ready for some serious fun!
