3 FUN-FILLED LOCAL ACTIVITIES HAPPENING THIS MARCH

|

As we say goodbye to winter and hello to spring the number of local activities and events is on the rise. Now’s the time to get out there and enjoy all the fun happening in and around Gilbert this month.

Chandler Chamber Ostrich Festival

Where: Tumbleweed Park 2250 S McQueen Road, Chandler
When: March 11-13 & 17-20 (Times Vary)

The 32nd annual Chandler Chamber Ostrich Festival is an area mainstay that’s ushered in springtime in Maricopa Country for three-plus decades with no signs of slowing down. Now back and in person, the Ostrich Festival will, of course, have live ostriches, along with several local and international bands rocking the mainstage every day of the festival. When you’re not listening to music or petting the modern-day equivalent of a velociraptor, dozens of rides and games are yours to enjoy along with classic festival food, meet-and-greets with your favorite local mascots, upscale arts and crafts, and much so much more. Sound fun? Check out their website for more info and ticket prices.

Phoenix Suns

Where: The Footprint Center, 201 E Jefferson St., Phoenix
When: March 11, 13 & 18

As of the writing of this article, your beloved Phoenix Suns have a comfortable lead for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference. So if you've never cheered on your local NBA team in person, now is the perfect time to go. With only three home games remaining in March, you'll want to grab your tickets ASAP.

Golden Girls Puppet Parody

Where: Chandler Center for the Arts 250 N Arizona Ave., Chandler
When: March 17, 7-9 PM

That’s right. Rose, Blanche, Dorothy, and Sophia are back – as puppets! The Golden Girls Puppet Parody is an all-new theater experience that reenacts scenes from the classic Golden Girls TV show from the ’80s using puppets. If you’ve never seen the original show, you’re sure to want to watch it after this side-splitting retelling. For all the old-school fans, watching these four puppets embody those four beautifully funny ladies from Miami will be like visiting an old friend. So purchase yourself a ticket and let the laughter begin.
