This will be a New Year’s celebration unlike any other in recent history, but that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice the fun. Northern Arizona has a lot to offer, after all. With a little planning and creative thinking, you can put together the ultimate New Year’s celebration. Here are five fun ways to ring in 2021 in and around Flagstaff.
Go for a Hike
Explore Arizona’s High Desert – and start off 2021 on a healthy note – with a hike. There are so many fantastic trails to choose from, including year-round highlights like the Abineau-Bear Jaws Trail.
Ski Snowbowl
We’re lucky to have the acclaimed Arizona Snowbowl right in our backyard. You can’t beat a ski day to ring in the new year!
Go Snowshoeing or Cross-Country Skiing
Strap on some snowshoes or cross-country skis and hit the trails. There are quite a few trails and trail systems to choose from!
Grand Canyon
Our proximity to the Grand Canyon is one of the premier perks of living in Flagstaff. The South Rim is less than 80 miles away. This national park’s beauty is unrivaled – even in the winter.
Watch the Pine Cone Drop … Virtually
The Great Pinecone Drop is a Flagstaff tradition – and that tradition will go on as the calendar flips to 2021. Watch the iconic illuminated pine cone take its annual plunge outside the Weatherford Hotel. You’ll have to watch and celebrate from afar, but it just wouldn’t be New Year’s without this uniquely Flagstaff tradition.
