Buffalo Park

We’re starting this list off with a nearby 215-acre park just north of Mountain Trail. Two miles of hiking trails take you through a stunning landscape with insanely cool viewpoints, glimpses of the local flora and fauna, and picture-perfect shots of Mount Elden.

Walnut Canyon National Monument

Walk a 1-mile round trip on a paved trail to check out 25 historic cliffside dwellings and uniquely shaped rock formations at this iconic spot. Be sure to bring along some water and wear sturdy hiking shoes. Always check weather alerts for snow or ice before making the 17-minute drive to high-elevation territory.

Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course

Unleash your inner daredevil with a visit to this thrilling outdoor adventure course. At just $55, you can spend hours climbing trees, balancing on wood planks, and ziplining through the forest. Time slots are currently limited, so be sure to make your reservation in advance.
