3 BEST SPOTS FOR HEARTY BREAKFAST IN FLAGSTAFF

|

Sometimes you want breakfast – not the kind that comes out of a box or pops out of your toaster, and certainly not the kind that is in liquid form. You want a huge plate of eggs with fluffy biscuits and sizzling sides of salty meats. You want piles of pancakes dripping with butter and syrup and jam. Here’s our pick for the three best places to go in Flagstaff when you are craving a hearty breakfast.

Mike & Ronda’s The Place Westside

Mike and Ronda’s is known for the biscuits and gravy which you can get with one, two, or three biscuits, but they also have a range of other hearty offerings like breakfast burros, chicken fried steak, and omelets. If you are really hungry go with the “breakfast steak,” a 16-ounce sirloin served with two eggs, hash browns, and a choice of biscuits and gravy, toast, or pancakes. Yowza!

Brandy’s Restaurant & Bakery

Brandy’s Restaurant & Bakery is the place to go if you're looking for something out of the ordinary. Brandy’s offers several creative riffs on traditional eggs benedict, some interesting scrambles and something called Swedish Oat Pancakes. A second restaurant, Brandy’s Cafe offers a similar menu in a smaller space downtown.

Tourist Home All Day Cafe

Don’t let the name fool you. The Tourist Home All Day Cafe is a restaurant run by a true local, and it serves a very hearty delicious breakfast. The menu is limited but everything is carefully prepared with some intriguing combinations. The breakfast sandwich features a yummy pimento cheese spread, and the huevos rancheros get a hearty upgrade with yams and chorizo. The coffees are also top-notch.
