|

There’s plenty to do in and around Chandler this August. Make the most of the second half of summer! Here’s what’s going on in the coming weeks.

Free Summer Concert Series

When: Fridays (through Aug. 27) at 7:30 PM

Where: The main stage at Chandler Center for the Arts

Kick off the weekend with a free concert. Catch a new band every Friday: Sandra Bassett Motown Revue on Aug. 13, Big Pete Pearson on Aug. 20, and Marmalade Skies on Aug. 27. If you aren’t sold already, this show is held indoors at the air-conditioned art center’s main stage, and soda, beer, wine, and a specialty drink of the night will be available for purchase. Per the CCA’s website, “While you’re here, explore The Gallery at the CCA after-hours to see Take a Hike, an exhibition inspired by Arizona’s incredible parks, trails and public lands.”

When: Aug. 21 at 6 PM

Get dressed up in your best white on white to enjoy a night of live entertainment, a silent auction, and great food. Tickets are $100; proceeds will be used for youth programs aiming to effectively break the cycle of generational poverty.
