You hear that? That’s the sound of a cheering crowd enjoying a live band. With summer in full swing and social distancing becoming far less, well, distant, it’s time to get out there and listen to some in-person tunes. So, with auditory enjoyment in mind, here’s an eclectic mix of live music events for you to check out this month.
NOLAZ Band
This seven-piece ensemble band plays groove and soul music covers from, you guessed it, New Orleans. Covering hits from the likes of Harry Connick Jr., the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, and more, NOLAZ puts on a must-see show if you want to feel a bit of the Big Easy right here at home. General admission is $20, and seating is first come, first serve, so get there early.
Date & Time: July 10, 8 PM
Location: Westside Blues & Jazz, Glendale
Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony
The prolific rap group from the ’90s is back to provide some much-needed hip-hop nostalgia. Tickets run about $50 once you factor in service fees, which is well worth it just to hear Crossroads.
Date & Time: July 15, 6 PM
Location: Marquee Theatre, Tempe
Notes from Neptune
If your musical taste spans several different genres, then this is the show for you. Notes from Neptune is a two-man band that takes you on a musical journey that spans from the Motown hits of the ’70s to the modern pop hits of today, and everything in between. As part of the Free Summer Concert Series, admission is $0, but you must register before the show.
Date & Time: July 23, 7:30 PM
Location: Chandler Center for the Arts
